Apache Junction is located in the far eastern part of Phoenix metropolis. Apache Junction sits at the base of the Superstition Mountains. It’s full of history and is considered by some as a desert playground with some of the state’s most photographed and hiked trails. Apache Junction has an Old West feel – you can take a mine tour, pan for gold, or ride Arizona’s only narrow-gauge railroad. Half of the homes in Apache Junction are manufactured/mobile homes, which this town is known for. It’s popular as a retirement community due to it’s affordability and low cost of living.
